The challenge

A mobile e-wallet application (Android/iOS) needed a complete overhaul. No version control, no CI/CD, ad-hoc deployments, and a codebase that had grown organically without structure.

The approach

Established complete development infrastructure from scratch: GitLab for source control with proper branching strategy, database migrations, Docker containerisation for consistent environments. Built and led a development team. Configured AWS infrastructure with Ansible automation for reproducible deployments.

The results

The challenge

Legacy PHP 5.x medical data system handling sensitive patient information. Security vulnerabilities identified, no version control, no automated testing, manual deployments with significant risk.

The approach

Comprehensive security audit followed by systematic modernisation. Upgraded PHP 5.x to 7.4, migrated to GitLab for version control, implemented unit tests and database migrations. Built automated deployment pipeline via Azure DevOps with security gates.

The results

The challenge

Enterprise cloud infrastructure provider needed a comprehensive management platform. Required authentication systems, task execution, virtualisation management, network equipment control, and storage management—all with enterprise-grade security.

The approach

Built authentication/authorisation API with industry-standard encryption. Developed queue-based task execution library for background processing. Created VMware management tools for virtualisation control, network equipment drivers for Cisco and Force10 devices, and NAS management systems for storage infrastructure.

The results

The challenge

Major Dutch telecom operator needed multiple customer-facing web applications: authentication systems, SMS dispatching platform, and a way for customers to view MMS messages on devices that didn't support multimedia messaging.

The approach

Led development of authentication systems for customer access. Built SMS dispatching platform for bulk and transactional messaging. Developed innovative MMS web viewer using XSLT and SMIL technologies to render multimedia messages on any browser, making content accessible on non-capable devices.
